AfroCubism - Mondomix
- Nick Gold, directeur du label World Circuit et le guitariste Ry Cooder ont pour projet de se faire rencontrer musiciens maliens et musiciens cubains sous le nom d’Afrocubism. Des problèmes de visas font échouer l’initiative et seuls les musiciens cubains poursuivent l’aventure : c’est la naissance de Buena Vista Social Club. Il faudra attendre 2010 pour que l’idée initiale voit enfin le jour avec notamment Eliades Ochoa,Toumani Diabaté et Bassekou Kouyaté.
